The Flag Project Website was originally created as a high school graduation project by Nick Schepis and Andrew Harris. The original address was http://www.geocities.com/flagproject2. Geocities no longer operates.
This website is designed to help anyone interested in conducting a flag retirement ceremony by fire. The United States Flag Code prescribes retirement of any flag that is torn, worn, or faded beyond repair by fire. I have helped organize and participate in two flag retirement ceremonies and this website is a culmination of those experiences.
